IT Service Desk Technician (Level 1) – Belfast (Remote) Are you passionate about IT problem-solving and acquiring new skills in a fast-paced setting? Due to continued expansion, an opportunity has arisen in Selective Travel Management, Northern Ireland’s largest Travel Management Company and a part of the World Travel Centre Group (WTCG) for an IT Service Desk Technician to join our in-house IT team and provide real-time support to our user base of more than 180 users. This role is ideal for recent graduates or those bringing hands-on experience who want to progress their career in IT. - Working hours: Monday to Friday between 8.30am and 6pm (8.5hr daily shift)
- Flexibility: Remote working, with the option to work from our new Belfast City Centre office or temporarily work from overseas.

- Providing first level technical support to our team of over 180 travel professionals
- Remotely diagnosing and resolving software & hardware issues reported by phone and via our online IT Service Desk system
- Escalating issues to our in-house development team, IT management & vendors in an appropriate & timely manner in accordance with agreed support SLA’s
- Monitoring mission critical systems and carrying out regular scheduled maintenance tasks to proactively reduce the risk of IT outages
- Ensuring that agreed IT policies and best practice are adhered to and that proper records are kept in accordance with our ISO 27001 certified information security management system.
- Sharing knowledge by documenting ticket resolution steps, contributing to our internal knowledge base and creating user guides where relevant.
- Workplace experience in first level IT technical support in a Windows environment (Windows 11, MS 365). Graduates with relevant work placement experience will be considered.
- Excellent general hardware knowledge (desktops, laptops, printers, networking, etc.)
- First class inter-personal & communication skills – fluent English (both verbal & written) is essential
- Excellent time management skills along with the ability to prioritise tasks based on business needs
- A passion for IT, problem-solving and a willingness to learn & develop new skills are essential

We’re looking for skilled business travel consultants to join our corporate teams. You will be part of a team of corporate travel consultants responding to travel requests from non-secure Government bodies sector across the UK as well as handling internal enquiries.

Job Purpose: You will be part of a team of corporate travel consultants responding to travel requests from non-secure Government bodies sector across the UK as well as handling internal enquiries. You will play a vital role in ensuring we continue to exceed our service level agreements and fulfil our customer requirements by providing the highest level of customer service and the best value for money. Key Responsibilities:- Give expert travel quotes and provide creative travel itineraries.
- The internal team will be responsible to handle supplier bookings for all teams across the corporate division
- Working as part of a team arranging worldwide travel for corporate & business accounts within commercial, government, education & local authorities
- Ensure all quotations meet client needs and reservations are booked in an accurate and timely manner.
- Providing in depth knowledge of destinations, tour operators and suppliers
- Know your customer, listen to their needs and conduct yourself at all times in a friendly and professional manner
- Deliver exceptional customer service and make sure all requirements are accurately met each and every time in line with client needs
- Act as an ambassador and key point of contact for the client during their travels before, during and after
- Using a GDS booking system / other reservation system
- Excellent time management and organisational skills are essential
- Ability to work under pressure and to precise time frames is paramount
- Operation of GDS (Galileo) is desirable.
- The successful candidate will be able to work self-sufficiently, as well as part of the team.
- The following skills are desirable; working in a corporate/group booking travel environment, knowledge of tailor-made trips, booking and changing multi sector and multi product itineraries.
- Minimum of 1 years’ experience in the travel sector.

- Deal with enquiries from our corporate clients from across the UK and Ireland consisting of SME’s, Government bodies and the Higher Education sector along with various travel agents over the phone and by email.
- Using our in-house systems and GDS to make and amend reservations including flights, hotels, car hire, rail and other business travel needs at the last minute.
- Offering excellent customer service to all our clients and remaining professional throughout various emergency scenarios.
- Process amendments and cancellations as requested by the client in accordance with the company standards.
- To issue, re-issue and perform re-calculations of international and domestic airfares within the booking conditions.
- You must ensure that you are able to offer efficient and accurate communication both written and verbally in a time effective manner.
