Europcar EV Partnership
Europcar partners with EV charging network Octopus Electroverse
Vehicle rental firm Europcar has signed a deal with electric vehicle (EV) charging network Octopus Electroverse as a way to reduce “range anxiety” among customers.
The arrangement will give Europcar Mobility Group UK customers access to more than one million public charging points across the UK and Europe through Octopus’ Electroverse charging app.
The service will be available through the Europcar EV Guide, which is a digital hub designed to help make renting an electric vehicle easier for drivers.
Sarah Clarke, senior consumer marketing manager at Europcar Mobility Group UK, said: “This is about making the switch to electric as seamless as possible. By giving access to a single charging platform that covers the majority of the UK network, we remove the need for multiple apps and logins.
“The route planning feature is particularly powerful, helping to reduce range anxiety by showing available chargers at the most efficient points along a planned journey.”
The Octopus Electroverse network of charging points includes access to suppliers such as IONITY, Osprey and Instavolt, which can be accessed through a single card or app.
“Drivers can find chargers, plan routes in real time and start charging via the app or with an RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) card. Its user-friendly interface delivers the benefits of going electric, from discounted charging prices to hassle-free payments,” added Europcar in a statement.
