NI Covid Hotel Quarantine Comes Into Effect

Managed Isolation packages go live for passengers arriving into Northern Ireland from ‘red list’ countries

All passengers who have been in or transited through a ‘red list’ country in the previous 10 days must book and pay for a managed isolation package before making any other travel arrangements.

The quarantine will apply to passengers arriving at Belfast City and Belfast International airports. The required ‘managed isolation’ period will be for 10 days and all bookings must be made through the online portal prior to departure.

The package will include:

  • Collection at the airport
  • Transfer to the designated hotel
  • PCR test kits
  • Meals and refreshments provided by the hotel

Guest will also receive a welcome pack on arrival with further information and guidance on essential services to assist them during their stay.

The online portal shows the cost for the managed isolation package. For one adult in one room for 10 days isolation is £1,750.

Currently there are no direct international flights into or out of Northern Ireland. When international flights resume, passengers arriving from outside the Common Travel Area (CTA), or those who have passed through red list countries outside the CTA in the previous 10 days will have to pay for a 'managed isolation' package.

Passengers who have not arrived from red list countries will use the same booking portal to pre-book their tests for their self-isolation at their own homes.

All travellers who have been outside of the Common Travel Area in the previous 10 days before arriving in Northern Ireland must:

  • Provide evidence of a negative COVID-19 test result taken up to three days before departure
  • Provide journey and contact details by completing a passenger locator form. This must be done 48 hours prior to arrival into NI or first point of entry into UK
  • Isolate for 10 full days from the point of arrival
  • Book a day 2 and day 8 test package before arrival

All regulations are being carried out to try and prevent the spread of potentially harmful variants of COVD coming into Northern Ireland.  Anyone who does not comply with the regulations may be refused boarding by the airline or carrier and/ or fined on arrival.
