Rail Refund Rule Changes
Refund Rule Changes for Certain National Rail Tickets from 1 April 2026
From 1 April 2026, the National Rail Conditions of Travel will change, which will include a major change to the refund rules for flexible tickets. Advance tickets aren’t affected, but for Anytime, Off-Peak, Super Off-Peak and Day Travelcards, the timing for refunds is moving earlier. Currently, if you have a flexible ticket, you can usually request a refund up to 28 days after travel. From 1 April, you’ll need to request it by 23:59 the day before your ticket is valid.
For full details of these changes, please see Refunds Change | National Rail, or speak to a member of our Team, who will be able to advise you further.
