Most Important Travel Factors

1) Price

Price is the most important factor when booking travel in 2024. Moving to the number one spot from second place last year, this is more than likely due to the cost-of-living crisis and the rise in costs across the travel industry. Whilst price increases are slowing down compared to previous years, businesses are still firmly focused on value for money as they hope to make their travel budgets stretch even further. At Selective Travel Management, we have exclusive airfares and corporate hotel rates alongside our in-house IT developers to integrate a variety of travel content to deliver your value for money and suit both your budget and travel needs. Our buying power and supplier relationships often lead to additional soft benefits.

2) Offline Support

Offline travel team support is the second most important factor when booking travel in 2024. Whilst this factor has moved down a place from the number one spot, it is still a major priority for travellers in the year ahead. With so much disruption in recent years and a greater dependence on TMCs, accessing a reliable customer service is essential for a successful travel management programme. At Selective Travel Management, you are provided with a dedicated team to manage your offline bookings. Our staff are equipped with the knowledge and expertise to resolve any issues travellers may encounter.

3) Duty of Care

It’s no surprise that duty of care and risk management are a key factor for booking travel in 2024. In the aftermath of the global COVID-19 pandemic, traveller safety and traveller wellbeing remain at the forefront of business travel concerns. At Selective Travel Management, your duty of care is our priority. We work with you to provide a process and service that meets your travel needs and supports your duty of care policy. With our in-house out of hours team, you can speak to a dedicated after-hours consultant any time, day or night, for support and relief. We provide 24/7 support, 7 days a week, 365 days a year

4) Online Technology

Online technology is the fourth most important factor when booking travel in 2024. Moving down one spot from last year, online technology remains a key factor as businesses look for more autonomy over their travel bookings and travel spend. At Selective Travel Management, we recognise the importance of technology to drive innovation, growth, and efficiency to improve the experience of our valued clients. We offer a full suite of technology including online booking, online reporting, traveller tracking and traveller profiles.

5) Sustainability

Whilst no longer the top priority, sustainability continues to be an important factor when booking travel in 2024. As we work towards net zero targets globally, eco-friendly travel options continue to be of importance when booking travel. Sustainability is key in all that we do at Selective Travel Management. As an ethical supplier, we provide innovative solutions to help minimise the impact of travel on the environment including carbon offsetting, carbon reporting and preventative travel policy measures to ensure greener travel where possible.
