Flights to Cardiff from Belfast City Airport have taken off with Eastern Airways, marking the return of the popular route at the airport.
The Belfast to Cardiff service, one of only two direct air links to Wales on the island of Ireland, will give passengers additional choice and frequency with up to five flights a week.

easyJet has announced it will launch a double-daily service from Belfast City Airport to London Gatwick, commencing from 9th July.
British Airways is launching four new domestic routes from Belfast City this summer, supporting important business and tourism links between Northern Ireland and the rest of the UK.
Over the next few months, the airline will start to operate 18 flights a week between George Best Belfast City Airport and Exeter, Glasgow, Leeds Bradford and Newquay airports. The new routes will run alongside existing British Airways services between Belfast and London City and London Heathrow airports.
Vueling Airlines has announced its plans to be the latest airline partner at George Best Belfast City Airport with a twice-weekly service to popular Spanish destination, Barcelona.
Taking off on 2nd July, Vueling further strengthens the IAG network from Belfast City Airport, which already includes a comprehensive choice of UK routes with Aer Lingus, a regular schedule to London Heathrow Airport with British Airways and flights to London City Airport with BA CityFlyer.
Aer Lingus has announced details of a replacement schedule for Aer Lingus Regional customers.
Aer Lingus Regional had been operated by Stobart Air under a franchise agreement. On the evening of 11th June, Stobart Air notified Aer Lingus that it was ceasing operations with immediate effect.
Customers scheduled to travel on the Belfast City / East Midlands route are being offered alternative flights.
easyJet has launched flights from Belfast International Airport to Bournemouth on the south coast of England for the first time, providing customers in Northern Ireland with even more domestic connections this summer. Flights to the popular seaside town are operating up to twice a week on Wednesdays and Saturdays throughout the summer.
easyJet will return to East Midlands and Leeds Bradford with new flights from Belfast International, which were previously served by Stobart Air-operated Aer Lingus Regional providing key connectivity for the regions.
The airline has also put over 60,000 additional seats on sale across existing routes from Belfast International to Birmingham from 3rd July operating 22 times a week; to Manchester from 9th July operating 27 times a week; to Edinburgh from 2nd July operating 22 times a week; and to Glasgow from 2nd July operating 20 times a week.
The route between Belfast International Airport and Faro Airport in Portugal has resumed, with flights operating four times a week to begin with, increasing then to 16 times a week in the summer peak.
Jet2 will be joining easyJet in operating flights to Faro Airport this June.
